Winged Fire theatre/media division operated for 28 years in Arizona and is now currently in hiatus.
We experimented with expressing humanity's current process of transformation by combining many forms of art ~ song, chanting, oratory and dialogue, dance, mime, music, poetic overlays of inspirational material, visual projections, occasionally sculpture or whatever worked to form an expression.
We made our own costumes, wrote some of our own music, built our own sets. The local hardware store donated paint and building supplies. We weren't funded from others; usually barely made ends meet.
But we were inspired, passionate about uplifting our current planetary situation, and devoted to transformation. As a result we packed our audiences. The energy of transformation wrapped actors and audiences alike in a rich experience that uplifted us all. People came up to us afterwards with tears in their eyes to thank us for helping them shift and lift.
As one woman shared with us, "I've gone to all kinds of workshops, read all the books, done the drill; but seeing the process acted out one time clicked it all together for me. Thank you!!!"
And thus is the power of the performing arts.
